Charlotte IT Solutions is able to provide you with the immense benefit of a time-tested infrastructure and problem solving protocol that is easy to follow.”

They serve a broad range of industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, and professional services, with a focus on small business. They also serve regions throughout North Carolina in addition to Charlotte.

This company also has a broader service area with a presence in Charlotte.

Here’s how they describe their approach to Charlotte IT support on their website:

“At neteffect technologies, we are proud to be one of the Carolinas’ top providers of Managed IT Services. In business since 1991, we’ve always found it as part of our responsibility to provide Technology Managers and Business Executives working in the Charlotte Small/Medium Business community access to the latest and most innovative and proven technologies, traditionally accessible only to larger organizations.”

Note that they also provide business phone systems, so they’re not simply focused on traditional IT support.

Secure Networks is another managed IT service provider, but they also feature limited engagements (and they often run offers to encourage signups at discounted hourly rates).

Here’s how they describe their service:

“What you’ll get? Truly unlimited support, management and monitoring utilizing state of the art NOC (Network Operation Center) in the cloud. Monthly flat fees per seat, whether it’s a workstation, network-enabled device or server, we got you covered. Our clients’ favorite is an unlimited package, but if you’re looking to save we do offer limited options.”

Note that nearly any IT support firm monitors your network in the cloud, so an NOC isn’t necessarily unique. That said, if you’re a small business looking to try outsourcing your IT support for the first time, their hourly rate package might be appealing.

CMIT Solutions is all-in on the managed services model; the acronym in the company’s name stands for Completely Managed Information Technology.

In that, they’re focused on comprehensive and quick issue support. Here’s how they put it:

“Technology is one of the most critical aspects of business operations, but also one of the least understood. Information is of equal importance – but often gets neglected when it comes to security and resources. Let us help your business. We take care of IT so you don’t have to!”

Note that they are not Charlotte-specific – actually, they’re part of a North-America-wide system with over 160 locations, so there’s the risk that you might end up feeling like a number as one of their clients.

Progent is another nationally distributed IT company, with onsite support options in cities from Los Angeles to Denver to, yes, Charlotte. Notably, they focus heavily on consulting and network design, although they do offer onsite and remote support,

Here’s how they describe their services:

“For businesses located in Charlotte North Carolina, Progent offers remote support for networks powered by Microsoft, Cisco, macOS and OS, or Linux/UNIX technology. Progent’s Microsoft Premier engineers have provided online support to businesses in every state in the U.S.”

They’re perhaps best equipped for Microsoft and Cisco consulting for small businesses. Note that they bill on a per-minute basis (as opposed to offering full managed services), so if you’re looking for a long-term strategic partner, they may not be your top choice.

IRIS Solutions is a managed IT provider serving small to mid-sized businesses in Charlotte. While they do cover a wide range of industries, they specialize in the medical space – and, more granularly, in providing IT systems and support for dentists.

They put it like this on their website:

“IRIS is a thought leader in developing modern IT solutions for highly regulated companies. Customers include dental and medical organizations, and a variety of commercial organizations.”

They offer the standard selection of managed services, including consulting, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, and more. If you’re a dentist in the Charlotte area, this IT company is certainly worth considering.

Based in Cornelius, North Carolina, Shared Resources Technology Solutions is another managed IT services provider that focuses on smaller businesses.

Here’s how they describe their approach:

“Managed IT Services proactively address Challenges and Opportunities preventing small problems and weaknesses from causing downtime and inefficiencies. Shared Resources has three Managed Service plans ranging from an entry level core Managed Security coverage, to a bundled, extensive set of proactive solutions that includes Unlimited Remote Support.”

While the company doesn’t note a particular industry focus on their website, all of the testimonials they have listed are from attorneys. It stands to reason, then, that their focus is likely in the legal space. So, if you’re a small legal firm, their IT support may be a good option for you.

STM IT Solutions recently relocated to Concord, North Carolina and continues to serve the Charlotte metro area. Like Charlotte IT Solutions, STM IT Solutions provides managed IT services to a wide range of businesses in a variety of industries.

Here’s how they explain their service:

“At STM, we offer diverse IT solution sets for our customers. Every client has a customized program based on their needs from managed services, email hosting, 24/7 help desk, virtualization/cloud services, applications and hardware support and disaster recovery and back up options.”

As the video on their About page explains, they focus heavily on custom solution design. They’re a slightly smaller shop – all customers have access to their President for support, which is both a signal of high-touch service and of limited staff depth. So, if you’re looking for a deep bench of expertise, they may not be the best option. But if you’re looking for a boutique firm to service general IT needs, they may be worth considering.

At this point on our list, we’re getting out of the main managed IT service space and moving into solutions that may be more focused on specific use cases or needs – like Nerds to Go.

Nerds to Go is, as you might suspect from the name, more focused on home technology repair than on business IT support. Here’s how they explain their service:

“At NerdsToGo our highly trained professional ‘Nerds’ can help you with all of your business and residential IT needs. Slow computer? Let’s get back up to speed. Virus infestation? We have you covered. Worried about Spyware? We can clean that up too, and keep you safe into the future.”

They brand themselves as “America’s IT Support”, so the clearly aren’t specifically Charlotte-focused, but they do serve the Charlotte area.

If you’re running a one-person shop, this may be an IT company to consider.

Apex Technology is another managed IT support provider in Charlotte that does offer the full range of services – cybersecurity, cloud services, email services, and so on.

Here’s how they explain their approach:

“Whether you are looking to complement your current tech staff or manage your entire IT infrastructure, our flat-rate managed IT services grow with your business, taking the pain out of technology.”

While they do serve a variety of businesses, they’re most focused in the healthcare IT space. If you run a medical office and you’re looking for general IT services, they may be worth considering.

This firm isn’t a managed IT provider – or really a support provider at all. While they do offer IT solutions and are ranked by Clutch as a top IT firm in Charlotte, they’re actually more of a software consultant.

Here’s how they describe their service:

“C5 Insight’s…14-year history implementing CRM and collaboration projects, and our team of authors, developers, certified trainers, and MBAs, is your key to success.”

They’re specifically focused on Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and Salesforce. If your business is looking to implement or customize a CRM using one of these systems, C5 Insight might be worth a look. They won’t be your go-to for IT support, though.

StratusPoint (which was recently rebranded from ComputerSupport.com) is another national provider that has locations in Charlotte. They serve a variety of industries, including fitness businesses, legal firms, nonprofits, and more.

Here’s how they describe their approach to serving the Charlotte area:

“Since 2006, we have been helping business leaders get the most out of their technology investment, on premise and in the cloud. Through our well developed and proven methodologies, we help you get the most out of technology and provide your business with a competitive edge.

Again, with a large firm, you do risk having your account become a number among many. But if you’re looking for general IT support from a big company, this may be an option to evaluate.

AT-NET Services, on the other hand, isn’t a national provider that’s opened a branch in Charlotte – they’re headquartered here (although they do serve businesses across the Southeast and even internationally).

Here’s how they tell their company’s story:

“In 1999 we were two engineers servicing a handful of customers. We merged with one of our customers in 2000 to form At-NET, LLC. After twelve months of the merger we decided to break-off on to our own. In 2001 AT-NET Services, Inc. was formed. In late 2002 we began to grow and add exceptional staff. Today we service customers from Charlotte, NC to Shanghai, China and have some of the best engineers in the industry.”

They offer managed computer services, but that’s only one of their focuses – they also provide infrastructure solutions, including cabling and security cameras. If you’re looking for help setting up your on-site security infrastructure, they might be a good solution for you.
